Our mission is to empower artisans throughout Latin America.

UMA was founded in 2019 in Lima, Peru, by a group of university friends. We wanted to help women in the rural Andes escape poverty through their artisanal skills.

UMA works with them to create and sell high-value handicrafts that allow them to double their income and achieve financial independence.

Our unique products

UMA works with artisans to empower them economically by creating products that utilize traditional techniques, preserve Andean culture, and feature modern designs.

Our pieces are handmade with local materials, making them unique.

We work with more than 400 female artists from the rural Andes, who express their creativity and culture in each piece.
